HipStirs, who is that?

For those of you joining us for the first time, welcome! HipStirs is a cocktail kit subscription box service. We were born out of our love not only for creating original craft cocktails but for creating experiences! It all started with our cocktail mixing courses that we host at our home in Austin, Texas and then we thought, “Why be selfish about this?! Let’s box it up and send it around!” And thus, our subscription boxes were born. We hope we can bring you the exhilarating experience of learning to be a master mixologist and create cocktails in your home that you love and share with your community!

What’s included in my cocktail kit?

Each kit contains a new and different recipe, so the box's content will vary respectively. However, you can always expect to receive the ingredients necessary to make about four of our delicious craft cocktails, a recipe card with ingredients, and instructions to make the cocktail.

Is alcohol included in my cocktail kit?

As a result of the current regulations on liquor in the state of Texas, we are able to deliver alcohol in your box provided you select a food add-on when you order and that you are within Travis county limits! If you are unsure if you are within our delivery limits, feel free to reach out. As the guidelines are updated we will pivot to remain in compliance with them.

How long will the ingredients keep?

We order and package our produce fresh and pack it directly into your box. It is best that as soon as you receive your package you place the fresh ingredients in your fridge! Our craft made items will maintain their flavor and freshness at room temperature for up to 2-4 weeks. After opening, we recommend refrigerating them to extend their shelf life.

How many cocktails will one kit make?

Depending on on how boozy and sweet you prefer your drinks, each kit can make about four custom cocktails. Yay!

When will my order be delivered? 

We ask that you give us up to 24-72 hours to process your order and send it out for delivery. You can expect to receive your delivery anywhere from 1-3 business days after your order has been processed! Shoot us an email if you are experiencing any further delays on your order. 

When can I pick up my order?

If you purchased something from our online store and you selected the pick-up option, please give us about 1-3 business days to process your order. After that, we will notify you that your order is ready to be picked up at our South Lamar location. You can come on by to grab it… and say hi!

Do I need to be home when my order arrives?

If your order includes alcohol, we will need to see a valid ID at the time of delivery. If you have ordered one of our boxes, sans-alcohol, then you can rest easy, we will deliver it to your doorstep and you can grab it whenever is convenient for you!

Where do you deliver to?

If your order contains alcohol, we are currently only able to deliver within Travis county. However, if your order does not contain alcohol, we can deliver anywhere within Austin city limits.  If you are outside of these locations, you can still choose pick-up at our store!

How much does delivery cost?

We charge a flat rate of $6.50 for delivery in the Austin area.

Can I order a box as a gift?

That is a great idea, we wish we’d thought of it first! You can order and have a gift delivered to anywhere within city limits. If it has alcohol, we can only deliver in Travis county and we will still need to see an ID to complete the delivery..

I don’t know how to make a cocktail, is this for me?

Absolutely! Our boxes are for all experience levels of mixologists. We will provide you with a recipe card that walks you through exactly how to prepare the drink. If you are already an expert mixologist, these boxes are a fun way to stay inspired and discover new flavor combinations you may not have known before!

My box did not get delivered/my box is missing something/my box is incorrect.

Oh no! We apologize for the mistake and we definitely want to make it right. If your box was not delivered to your address, please contact us at hello@hipstirs.com and we will make sure your address is correct in our system. If you are missing an item or received the incorrect order, please leave the items in the box unopened and send us an email to the same address. We will verify the order you placed in our system and send the correct items your way!

What is your return policy?

At the current moment, we do not accept returns and therefore refunds cannot be issued in the event a box is shipped back to our store. 

If a purchased box arrives damaged or is missing an item, our team will look into the matter and see if that box or single item can be re-delivered. Please shoot an email to hello@hipstirs.com

However, sending back boxes no longer wanted, does not warrant a refund as we do not accept returns.

Dietary restrictions-- Are your boxes kosher, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free?

The ingredients may vary by box, but for the most part they are friendly to all types of diets. Our syrups are naturally gluten free and made from plants and fruits. If you have any questions about the ingredients of specific items, feel free to reach out to us.

Is HipStirs a retailer of alcohol?

We are not! We partner with local retailers and distilleries to provide you with the spirits found in your cocktail kits.

Is the HipStirs store different from a HipStirs subscription?

Yes! Our HipStirs Store sells cocktail kits that are tailored to our local customers. Nothing you purchase from the HipStirs store signs you up for a subscription. However, if you are interested in signing up for our monthly subscription boxes which will be launching October 2020, you can click here to fill out our waiting list form.

Can HipStirs host my private or corporate event?

We would absolutely love to! It’s a little different than ordering a box from us, but we’d love to chat with you more about bringing your event to life! Please fill out our ‘virtual mixology’ event inquiry form on the home page of our website or shoot us an email at hello@hipstirs.com.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday 9AM-5PM EST. Please allow 1-2 business days for our team to respond or get back to you. If you are coming into our store front to pick up your order please wait for a confirmation that your order is ready for pickup!

Where are you all located?

Our store is located at 3403 South Lamar Boulevard in Austin, TX. We also host events here, such as our Mixology courses and private events. If you’re in town come by to shake things up with us!
